Trip to Rome

Dec 13, 2009

I left the apartment at 5:30 am. The credit card company provides pick-up to/from airport once a year if you use their card to pay for the airfare, but it has to be a China Airlines flight because it is a co-branded RBS-CAL card. I started sleeping in the service car and woke up just in time to get off Taiwan Airport Terminal 1 at around 6:05 am. The plane took off at 8:25 am. It was full from Taipei to Delhi.

We arrived at New Delhi airport at around 3:45 pm, a little delayed because the flight from Taipei to Delhi was supposed to be 7 hours and 5 minutes. We had almost 2 hours of stopover at New Delhi. The plane left Delhi at 5:30 pm.

There are only 89 passengers for the second leg of the trip from Delhi to Rome. Almost all passengers transferred to the middle column wherein they can lie down (lie flat J) on 4 seats in a row. Of course I did that, too J This is a blessing because I did not sleep the whole night before going to the airport. Note: "I did not sleep," not "I cannot sleep." There are so many things that I had to finish before leaving …. Thank God! I was able to finish the most important one J

Dinner was served immediately after take-off. I had lamb rice. And immediately after I went to "bed"—my aircraft bed J I woke up at 10:15 pm (Taipei time), so I had almost 3 full hours of sleep. Hopefully this helps me to stay awake for the Orientation tonight.

Italy is notorious for snatchers. Lord, I pray that I will get a good taxi in the airport and that I will be spared from robbery. Please give me alertness and presence of mind. Please send Your angels before me to protect me from harm. Amen!
