Anniversary? Definitely not wedding anniversary! … and of course, not death anniversary :D
8 years ago today I came to Taiwan to become a seminary teacher. Wow! Time flies and it's now been 8 years. I'm now celebrating by having American Style Brunch at Dante Coffee Shop. I originally planned to go to N.Y. Bagels Cafe, but it only opens at 11:00am during the Chinese New Year holidays.
These 8 years have been one of the most significant periods of my life. I've experienced great joy, achievement, adventures … at the same time these 8 years have been filled with indescribable pain, struggle and challenge. But by God's grace I've passed through them one by one, holding God's hands tightly lest I fall and stumble or drift away.
I thank God …
- that at my age I could still have my mom around and have the opportunity to take care of her and provide for her needs
- that the 3 of us (mama, 3hia and myself) had wonderful and memorable 5 years together
- that I could be here when 3hia needs me most
- for people who like me and believe in me: BFF, good friends and colleagues at TBTS and all around the world, APBF & BWA leaders
- that BWA could discover me and provide the opportunities for exposure and involvement
- for exciting trips: Hong Kong, Thailand (Bangkok & Chiangmai), U.S. (Washington & Chicago), West Africa (Ghana), China (Beijing, Shanghai, Wuhan, Shengyang, Nanjing), Japan (Okinawa), Singapore, Czech (Prague), Germany (Leipzig), New Zealand (Auckland, Wellington, Palmerston North), Netherlands (Ede & Amsterdam), Italy (Rome & Florence), UK (Oxford, London & Edinburgh)
- for the car (white March IL 6799) from Wang-ge, obtaining a driver's license, and for God's protection when I'm on the road
- for my gadgets (Toshiba R-600 notebook computer and Nokia E65)
